a beautiful goodbye

I’m sitting in my room, extremely sick, watching the rain pour through the crack in my window and reflecting on such a beautiful semester. There are so many things to hold dear from the semester. I have grown a lot and  have watched others grow exorbitant amounts.

I have been thinking about how to sum up the semester, and it’s been a struggle to think of the right words to fully encapsulate all that has happened. But I think I’ve landed on how to summarize it.

God grants us beautiful and good things for short amounts of time so we can better cherish them.

Not only did I have to opportunity to live with and mentor college students, I was able to enjoy walking with them and the Lord daily. I’ve come away with special friendships that I will cherish forever.

My job is unique in that I get to build deep relationships with students at integral parts in their lives, but shortly after I say goodbye, I begin the process all over again with new faces. It reminds me of something one of my professors said to me when I was college. It’s not replacing the old group, rather it’s adding to your community.

No one can replace the friends I’ve made these past 3 months. I mean, we are all so uniquely made that would be impossible. Sometimes new seasons involve new people entering your life. Not replacing the old but adding more to your life and journey.

Alright. Now I am going to start posting about some of the great experiences I’ve had during the semester 🙂

Here are a few pictures from the semester of some very special people to me.
